SCHOOL PRINCIPAL NARROWLY ESCAPES LYNCHING OVER GAY ALLEGATIONS
Mr. Modestus Eze, a Middle -aged principal of Seat of Wisdom private secondary school in Anambra State, narrowly escaped being lynched by angry youths in Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area, for allegedly having unlawful carnal relations with a 17-year old boy of the school.
There were reports that the Principal had been committing this unlawful act for years offence, although he had not been caught until the recent incident with this particular student.
Mr Eze was fond of asking any male student he was interested in to wait after school to be sent on an errand by him, or invite the student to his house at weekends, only for him to lure the victim to his home for homosexual activity. Alleged discovery of substances suspected to be charms and deities sprinkled with red substances which was suspected to be fresh blood in some rooms within the school premises.
As soon as the discovery was made, the youths mobilized themselves to deal with him, not knowing that he had escaped.The action was said to have made some youths very angry to the extent of almost setting the suspect ablaze, but he narrowly escaped. According to indigenes, it took the intervention of the Police and some important people in the area to restore relative peace and calm the rampaging youths who attempted to set the Principal's house on fire. The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was still not caught, but gave assurance that efforts were being intensified to catch and bring him to justice.
He said the scene of the crime had been sealed off by the Police, while investigation continues. Meanwhile, detectives attached had taken the victim to a hospital in the area for medical examination.
