BUHARI BEGS NIGERIANS TO STOP PRAISING THIEVES
The President of Nigeria, President Buhari has made an appeal, in his Sallah's message, to stop glorifying thieves in the country.
In this Sallah message to mark the end of the Ramadan fast, President Buhari said thieves in the Nigerian society must be treated with disdain for bringing hardships to others in the society
Buhari stated: “Selfishness and greed have overcome people’s conscience so much that they don’t have moral inhibitions in the pursuit of their greed. I always wonder why any true believer, be they politicians, civil servants or businessmen, would seek to make profits from the misfortunes of others”.
President Buhari urged Muslims, while congratulating them on the completion of their fast, to reflect on the importance of Ramadan, i.e in becoming good ambassadors of Islam at all times.
President Buhari encouraged religious leaders to always pray for peace and unity in the country and avoid making utterances that endanger peace or promote conflicts. The President also appealed to fellow citizens to forgive one another and embrace peace.
He thanked Nigerians for their patience and gave the assurance that their sacrifices will not be in vain, adding that reforming a country that was almost decaying on account of corruption comes with eething pains.
He then added that these pains are temporary, the APC administration which he is to lead, is loyal to the ordinary Nigerians and will leave no stone unturned to make their security and welfare their priority.
