The police command of the State of Lagos is planning to do more research on some website operators who have given students answers to professional examinations. These website operators were unveiled during the WASSCE in 2018 on Tuesday. This was revealed after a reporter from Punch was threatened after the story he had written about the website operators. Edgal Imohimi, the police commissioner, said that he received a petition stating that the life of the reporter and that of his relatives was under threat. The petition was approved Thursday by the police commissioner, who ordered it to be referred to the Special Investigations Bureau. The police commander promised to find the root of the case and bring the people to the law. The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said the investigation had begun in the case. He noted that it was wrong for someone to intimidate journalists in the performance of their legal duties. He stated that the agents started an investigation into the case. Add to that, their research is focused on unraveling those behind the dubious websites with the aim of arresting and prosecuting them. According to PUNCH Metro reports, some of the students who run the WASSCE 2018, managed by the West African Examination Board, are deceived by subscribing to answering reading sites. The website operators boasted asking questions before the time of the examinations, advertised different rates for different subjects and urged the students to register en masse to receive discounts.
