A magistrate court of Ebute Meta, sitting in Lagos, asked Wednesday that a 32-year-old man, Seun Efundiya, was sentenced to prison for presumed death to his friend after a disagreement over a SIM card.
Efundiya, who sells and registers sim cards, appeared in charge of murder. Your reason has not been taken.
The prosecutor, ASP Clara Olagbayi, told the court that Efundiya committed the crime on April 14, at 09:30 p.m., at Olukusi street, outside Palace Road, at Ijede in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Olagbayi said the defendant stabbed his friend, Mark Ogbe, on his death for his refusal to hand over a SIM card.
"The deceased and the defendant had participated in a fight because the accused had refused to lend to Ogbe a sim card.
"In the process, Efundiya stabbed Ogbe with a broken bottle that blew him to death," he said.
The Nigeria news agency reports that the crime violates Article 223 of the Criminal Law of the State of Lagos, 2015, which prescribes a sentence of death by order.
The magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Olagbende dismissed the accused of the Ikoyi Prison pending a result of the legal advice of the State Director of Public Prosecutions of Lagos.
Attached the case until June 4 to mention it.
