THE SHINNING DARKNESS - Oluwatunmise
The land is good,
It houses lot of beautiful resources,
Resources enough to last till eternity,
And cater for its inhabitants.
Swimming beneath the earth is the black gold,
Which is the envy of most lands.
In the heart of the land are precious diamonds,
Gold, bitumen and coal lay majestically in its belly.
Above, in the eyes of the land stands trees well rooted,
Rooted enough to shield the eyes of the land from blindness and calamity,
Calamity of erosion and infertility-soil poisoning.
Unfortunately, the land is covered in darkness,
Harboring killers, murderers, liars, prostitutes and the likes.
These groups in their individuality are the darkness,
They are the darkness that humiliate the land and make it shed tears.
Trees are felled without replanting,
Oils are rigged without proper care and cleaning of the land of host communities,
Causing farmlands to be destroyed, aquatic animals are killed,
Bushes are burnt,
Wild animals are killed indiscriminately,
Gases are flared-causing acid rain to bleach the earth of it's robust fertility leading to lost of soil microorganisms.
Global warming and green house gases fills up the space,
Oils are bunked,
Blood of innocent humans are spilled,
For God's sake,
Who are the perpetrators of these evil?
*For crying out loud, who!!!
Definitely it's man.
Man is the darkness that covers the land,
Preventing it from shinning forth its light.
Men are the land's worst enemy,
Indeed, the land is a SHINNING DARKNESS.
