I was a bit furious. although my fury wasn't obvious. I took a good look at the guy, he looked very much older than I was, the clothes he wore were obviously expensive, matched with the golden wrist watch he used. He had some stubble on him, although he had a low cut hair style.
I wasn't planning on saying anything but Bimbo sighed with a smiled that made her dimples obvious and said pointing at me and also facing the guy "Thank God! This it the guy we have been waiting for." The next thing I heard was "Kunle, this is my senior brother, he has come to take me home due to an unforseen issue" She said trying to show me her medium-sized traveling bag and also introduced him to me as "Biyi" They looked alike and it was obvious, just that Bimbo was lighter
"Good afternoon sir" I said, almost prostrating for the guy and also blaming myself for making my misconception rule over me. I had judged others without verification. He met me with a hand shake and said "Bimbo told me a lot about you." That got me surprised but I had to play along. "We became friends just yesterday and we hardly know ourselves, I don't even know what she likes in him" I thought.
"We should have left, but she wants both of us to meet before we leave." Biyi added. He asked me few questions about studies and school life which I answered accordingly.
As he was addressing me, he got a phone call, which made him excuse us. He picked the call and moved some yards away as he continued with his phone call.
When he had moved a bit away, I took the chance to talk to Bimbo
Me:Why the urgent visit? Hope no problem
Bimbo: Honestly, I don't know yet, Dad just called me some hours ago, I just hope there is no problem.
Me: I hope so as well, but you should have messaged, why must you wait when it is urgent?
Bimbo: As my brother said earlier, I want you to meet my bro before we leave.
I smiled and told her how much I appreciate her idea. We talked about some others things as we were both smiling and admiring ourselves. .
I just couldn't stop admiring her fitted and colourful gown. I wanted to tell her how much I love her, but I wasn't so brave. more so, then wasn't the right moment.
She realised that the smile on my faced had faded away, so she stretched for my hands and held them with hers. "I will soon be back." She actually got me wrong, because I wasn't even thinking of missing her. I wasn't comfortable with us holding hands here, so I tried to look behind me to check if her brother was watching, but he was busy with his call.
Bimbo noticed my action and she calmed me down letting me know there is nothing to worry about.
Some of our hostel mates passed in as we were talking and our hands were still together. That got me a bit embarrassed, although I didn't let it reflect on my face. We talked for few more minutes till Biyi was done with his call.
Biyi brought out his wallet and counted out a sum five thousand naira. I didn't know his intention until he handed the new five hundred naira notes to me. I wasn't expecting anything from him, not to talk of a whole five thousand naira cash.
I accepted the cash with joy and surprise written all over me. I thanked him a lot and added few prayers. He welcomed my thanks and requested we exchange contacts, but Bimbo interrupted and said she will do that for us.
I saw them off to the car and they drove away after a few chats. I pocketed the money and walked in feeling happy about how my day has changed totally.
As I was approaching my room door, I paused to an incoming SMS on my phone, it was from Bimbo, She sent her brother's number and ended the message with "I will really miss you." I replied her "I will miss you too, safe journey and thank your brother on my behalf" I did all those with a smile on my face and continued with my movement feeling great about myself and also thinking if Bimbo has the same feeling as mine. I also wondered how possible in just two days.
As I got to the door, I saw Bisi walking toward me, she wore a Singlet and a very short tights, maybe a "bumshot" her face was more beautiful and her body looked more appealing combined with her walking style and the bright smile; just like that of a model. I had never seen her that beautiful.
