Osun Poll : "Our Votes Are Not For Sell" A Modakeke based Sociopolitical Youth Group Tell PDP

A youth based sociopolitical organization, the Modakeke Progressives Youth Agenda has berated the gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke and his cohorts over their conduct while on a condolence visit to Modakeke chiefs and community leaders on Saturday over the demise of the late monarch, Oba Francis Adedoyin, Olaogbin 1, at the palace of Ogunsua of Modakeke, just as the group warned that no amount of money could buy the conscience of the people of Modakeke because the people of the ancient town can differentiate between the light and darkness.

The group made this assertion on Monday via a press release signed by the group’s president and secretary, Comrade Arowolo Kunle and Comrade Oresanya Toluwalase respectively
in reaction to the conduct of the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate and his entourage.

The statement reads further, “it is a known fact that the current administration in the state led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has created an enabling environment for Modakeke’s development to strive well. “Let us start by saying the people of Modakeke are very wise and thoughtful, we know who were with us in the time of adversities and those who not only distant themselves from the people of the town but were not also bothered about our existence.”

There was a time, fire engulfed the popular Orisunmibare plank market in Modakeke where several millions of naira was lost to the fire incident and also the flood disasters that claimed the wanton of properties including the life of a child, we know those who not identified and rally-round the victims, they also provided the needed succour to the victims. The APC administration in the state was also responsive enough and initiated a comprehensive dredging of all the gutters, culverts and and all flood prone areas in Modakeke and Ile-Ife to avert future occurrences”.

It is important to note that the PDP running mate, Hon. Albert Adeogun, who is a serving member of house of representatives did nothing during the trying times nor has he launched / initiate any empowerment for our people in four years of his sojourn in Abuja.

So, if some politicians are now trying to be friends of the town or pretending to be generous, we should know it is the creation of the current political season and failure awaits them in their endeavour.”

As a group, we thank Senator Ademola and his team for commiserating with our people on the demise of our beloved king, however we are of the opinion that hand shake should not go beyond the elbow.
