Osun Politics: Oyetola is imposed to sustain the Agenda to further impoverising Home based- Politicians - A group Alleged

    Michael Olanrewaju, Osogbo.
It is no longer news that the once cohesive, robust, highly disciplined, impregnable, cult-like ruling Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is embroiled in unimaginable crisis.
Many members of the party have been defecting to a relatively unknown Action Democratic Party (ADP) following the resignation and defection of its former state party Chairman, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, who was the secretary to the State Government for seven and a half years.
SPEARGISTS investigations revealed that a group within the splinter but now popular ADP accused Governor Aregbesola led APC administration of allowing economic interest to override its political interest to an unbearable level and blamed this for the crisis and consequent split in the party.
According to findings, the struggle to sustain an economic structure detrimental to the development of the state in the government policy framework, which is higher than the power struggle has been on for some
time but remained secret to the public.
The state government economic policy has been emasculated in consultancy operations of the government.

Reacting to this in a telephone interview, the Director of Media, Publicity and Strategy of Osun State APC, Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, dismissed the allegation, saying government and party in power have been doing their best for the people of the state.
In terms of youth empowerment scheme, Oyatomi said the state engaged over 20,000 youths bi-annually. Provision of infrastructures like good road networks, schools, pupils feeding regardless of party affiliation for all the citizens and residents of Osun state, he said have also been of top priority to the present administration.

But a group that is moving out APC into the ADP, in an exclusive chat with SPEARGISTS insisted that “Infinity” Company, allegedly owned by the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, who incidentally is the flagbearer of APC now is one of the consultancy outfit that drains the resources of the state.
The group alleged that out of the N650million revenue profile of the state, the
consultancy outfit collects 10% which is N65million as gross revenue fees and at the same time collects enhancement fees of 35% which is N170million. This amounts to about N1.7billion annually.
“This economic status can only be sustained by Alhaji Goyega Oyetola,” the group alleged. “Thus, the need to a skewed primary election in his favour to the detriment of popular grassroots politician like Alhaji Moshood Adeoti”, it added.
The group also alleged that the consultancy outfit serves as a source of capital flight from Osun state to Lagos and this has continued to be one of the reasons for the division between Osun home based and Lagos based members of APC.
The belief by Governor Aregbesola that the resolve that only Lagos based Osun indigenes, starting from the Deputy Governor and planned engagement of the Chief of Staff from within Lagos circle  too, at the inception of the APC administration in the state, leaked to the political class in Osun APC through Adeoti was the beginning of the  travails of the estwhile SSG in the hands of the governor.
In addition, the group alleged that the bulk of the contracts for roads, schools are awarded to the Lagos based contractors like  Slava Yeditepe owned by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his Lagos based political allies, Ratcon Construction company, and Sammya. All the infrastructural contracts like roads and mega schools running into several billions of Naira were awarded and paid for without any input by Adeoti as the SSG.
They also alleged that the need to pay these contractors as a matter of first line charge from the Federal Government bail-out funds, Paris Club refunds and other windows of financial support was much more responsible for the inability of the State Government to pay it’s workers and pensioners salaries and other emoluments. Thus, the none involvement of Adeoti in the contract deals makes it difficult for the out-going Governor Aregbesola to trust him that it would be sustained by Adeoti.

The group admitted that its members tolerated a programmed agenda of impoverishing the locals by empowering the Lagos based politicians and making the Osun based politicians subservient to them for so long.

However, last week’s governorship primary election of the party was the last straw that breaks the camel’s back.

They, however, vowed to remain with in progressives fold and pursue their social programme of activists that takes care of the vast majority of the people
