The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board(JAMB) announced on Tuesday the results of the mop up examination, which was conducted for the candidates whose UTME was rescheduled to May 26, Saturday.
The results can be assessed on the JAMB portal;www.jamb.org.ng . Dr Fabian Benjamin,The Board’s Head of Media, made the announcement in an interview with sources , in Abuja.
The board had conducted a mop up examination for over 12, 000 candidates in some of its centres across the country recently, this included those whose biometrics could not be captured during the initial registration of the UTME in March, including  those who were yet to see their results with no involvement in malpractice. There were others  who were unable to print out their e-slip before the earlier examinations, also  those whose centres were cancelled for suspected  examination malpractices.
On the admission process, Dr. Benjamin told sources that the board frowned at a few institutions that have breached the constitutional guidelines for the entire process by making advertorials before the  stipulated policy meeting. He went further to explain that all institutions must note that  no form of Advertisements must be made for Admission until after the policy meeting.According to the spokesman, this is because the meeting is the only authorised entity that approves the  admission proccess into institutions process for every preceding year.

Benjamin added: those who intend to mak“Advertising before the policy meeting is a violation and abuse of the entire process. “They must recall that at the meeting, all proceedings, rules and regulations guiding the admissions are discussed and unanimously approved by all stakeholders.
“However, a list of institutions that breached this rule are being compiled by the board and to be forwarded to the appropriate body for sanction."
He  noted that the 2018 policy meeting of the education sector was coming early so as to allow institutions begin an early admission of candidates
