8 PEOPLE DIE IN ROAD ACCIDENT AFTER ARRIVING IN NIGERIA

After arriving in Lagos at Murtala Muhammed International Airport from Spain on tuesday, to a traditional wedding in Benin City. Less than five hours after touching down, 10 of them boarded a bus from Iyare Motors in Lagos and embarked on a trip to the Edo State.

But eight of them died when their bus was involved in a fatal auto crash at Danco axis of the Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

  

 Five males and three females were confirmed  dead as onlookers further destroyed the bus to evacuate passengers. Two other passengers in the bus were badly injured.

The vehicles  involved were a Toyota Hiace passenger bus marked Ben 313 YX and a Volvo truck with number plate - MUS 730 XN.

 Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, Spokesman of the Ogun state traffic compliance and enforcement corps (trace),  says that the driver, in an attempt to overtake the truck, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the truck from the rear.

The bodies of the eight who died in the crash, including the bus driver, was put at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
