Lover Pours Acid On Fiancee For Cheating

A 33-year-old enthusiast, Lukman Madotti, who reportedly soured his fiancée, Toyin Muyiba, was docked for an Ebute Metta Magistrates' court on Wednesday.

Madotti is tried for attempted murder.

The prosecutor of the police, ASP Clara Adegbayi, told the court that the crime was committed on April 9 at number 11, Alhaji Lasisi St., Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos.

According to her, the jealous lover threw sour at Muyiba, 20, whom he had accused of flirting and cheating.

The offense violates article 230 (1) of the penal code of the State of Lagos, 2015.

The offense attracts life imprisonment, according to the provisions of the penal code.

However, the accused did not plead guilty.

His plea, however, was not taken to court as the Magistrate-in Charge, Ms. O.A. The latter ordered that the accused should be put in pre-trial detention pending advice from the public director of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lagos (DPP).

She has adjourned the case until 4 June to be mentioned.
