Catholic Priest, Attacked During Mass In Imo State

A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Kevin Ugoamadi, who is the parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Catholic parish Akwakuma, in Owerri North, LGA. The state of Imo on Sunday was attacked by some clans during the mass.

It is coming months after another Catholic priest, Rev. F. Cyriacus Onunkwo was kidnapped and killed in the State!

This happened after the priest made an exemption from responsibility over Mr. Solomon Ohakosim who had parade as a Catholic priest, extorting money from people and causing commotion to any community in which he entered.

Solomon, popularly known as "Monsignor", is on a liberation mission to Akwakuma in Owerri North, LGA. and of the investigations made by the church, it is discovered that this Solomon that comes from Okporo Orlu from the State Imo is not a Catholic to speak of the birth of being a Catholic priest and the priest who tries to warn that these people involved towards the end of the mass were attacked by some community boys who were expelled by the members of the church.

After this development, a feligresher who is a senior police officer invited some members of the special team against theft (SARS) to intervene, it was said that the police officers were in the church until they were the situation calmed down.

Talking to the priest, he confirmed that some guys attacked him as he spoke, but insisted that the truth should be explained. He also alleged that a number called him late in the morning to threaten his life and with some other feligres who cite the same.

Solomon has been to so many communities in Imo State as Amatta, Akabo de Ikeduru, Ideato Nord and Sud and some other communities.

We urge the general public and the competent authorities to join their voices to spread this gospel and be very careful about who we call God's man. God is a God of peace and not confusion and problems.
