Episode 6

I stood still at a point wondering if that was a dream. "Is this how I am going to lose the first girl I ever fall in love with?" "Why did she come to my life when she is in love with someone else?" I was lost in thought for a moment until a vibration from my phone brought me back to reality. I checked and it was an SMS from MTN. Another disappointment!

As I found my way back to class to join my colleagues, I reasoned that Bimbo is even innocent about my feelings for her, so she can't be blamed. I am the one who had falling in a one-sided love. "Did she charm me with the food she gave me yesterday?" Another funny thought crossed my mind again. I swayed all those funny thoughts off my mind and focused on my journey back to class.

There wasn't any serious activity in class as almost everyone was busy with their phones and some were just playing. I spotted a vacant seat at the back space where I won't be disturbed by anyone. I went to seat there and placed my head on the desk just calm myself down a bit.



After some minutes, one of the 300level students came in to announce that the departmental orientation is coming up the following week. After he had left, I resumed back to my position and I plugged my earpiece as I listened to "fire on the mountain" by Asa.

I raised my head up as someone tapped me at the back. Everyone's attention was on me, I had been singing the song out loud unconsciously!

I removed the plug from my right ear as I searched the guy's face to know what I have done to earn everyone's attention. I was still innocent about what I had done. You are singing too loud, he said softly.

I apologized to him and bowed my head a bit to the whole class. Everyone continued with what they were doing, but I wasn't happy with the scene I had created. As I was thinking of how bad that day has been, the course rep came in and announced that Engr. Ajala has sent him to give us an assignment which we should submit the next class.
He dictated the task for us and still promised to send it to our class WhatsApp group.

It was almost 12:00noon and we all left the lecture room. I went to a nearby Restaurant and had some snacks. After I was done and was about leaving for home, the girl I met earlier at the ATM stand came in. I greeted her but she replied just as if we had never met before. I wanted to talk to her, but she didn't even wait to talk to me. She looked around the restaurant and left immediately. "She hadn't come to eat, maybe she was searching for someone" I guessed.

"Nothing good has happened to me today." I thought as I trekked to where I should get a bike that will take me to my hostel. The lecturer refused to come, Bimbo went with another guy, I created a scene in class and now this ATM girl has killed it all. I decided to just to ease mind before getting back home.


I was able to see everywhere in the city better as I trekked back home. I was the only student walking alone, others were walking in groups of two, three and some even up to seven. I walked for half an hour and I was already in my street.

I was shocked as I approached my hostel to find the car that had earlier taken Bimbo away from campus parked right outside the hostel. "He even brought her home, maybe he has been frequent here but I hadn't noticed" I thought to myself.

I opened the gate and I was welcomed by Bimbo and the guy as they were about leaving the compound.
