    SUPERSTITION 1; A virgin in dilemma (18+) Episode 11

    Episode 11

I could read a a bit of surprise from Shade's eyes, but Bisi was totally ignorant of our thoughts as she said to me. "Kunle, meet shade; the celebrant"
"So, she is the celebrant?" I asked with obvious surprise all written over me. "Yes, I am!" She said
    affirmatively.

'Do you know her?' Bisi was confused as she asked. She dragged us to a corner so the music would not disturb us.

I couldn't help it so I smiled as I gave a reply to her question. "Hmmm, not really." I didn't want to say how we met, so it won't be as if I am flaunting that I helped her.

"We meet at the ATM stand this afternoon and he helped me out, I would have waited for about thirty minutes, but with his help, I spent less than five minutes." Shade explained.

"Is that all?" Bisi asked. I couldn't imagine why Bisi was curious for more.

I faced Shade directly neglecting Bisi's reaction. "What happened this afternoon? You weren't looking cool."
She smiled and explained the whole situation to us. She told us she contracted her birthday cake to the owner of that restaurant and she told her the cake will be ready in the morning. That is why she had to withdraw from the ATM to balance up, but on getting to the restaurant, the waiters said their employer is sick and was admitted and they know nothing about the cake.

"I wasn't more bewildered until when I dialled her number and I couldn't get through." She continued her story as we showed more interest to the saga.

"So, we won't cut any cake tonight?" Bisi asked."

We will!" Shade replied. "The woman called me herself this evening when I had already giving up on the cake, and tried to focus on other birthday plans, she apologised for any stress she might have caused. She told me she had contracted the cake to one of her friends when she realised her health status isn't good. She send me the address and I went for the cake." We all laughed.

"Thanks for this afternoon" Shade said stretching her hand at me.
    "Don't mention." I replied with a wink.
    "Guess what" I added
"What is that?" Both of them were surprised.
"You look great! Happy birthday" She could not hide the smile as I commend her look.

"Thanks a lot, you yourself ain't looking bad." She said and ushered us back to the hall as the MC tested the microphone signaling that the program is about to start.

As we moved into the hall, I was welcomed by Tola, Nene and Charles; these are my three classmates i had seen earlier. Tola threw herself at me and I welcomed her into my arms although with a concealed confusion. "What could ignite her action?" I wondered silently in my mind till I started to perceive some strange odour, then I was able to figure out that she was drunk.

No wonder, this girl doesn't act like this in her normal realm, in fact, we had never talked.
I was trying to release Tola from my arm when I realised that Bisi's reaction had changed. The smile on her face had disappeared as she moved away from us and went to sit alone.
Charles helped me to hold Tola because she was still staggering.

"She drank too much" Nene said, trying to apologise for Tola's misdeed.
"No problem, but do you all drink?" I asked. "Yes, drinking is fun, don't you think so?" She shouted with joy.
I shook my head in disapproval; I detest young people who drink, especially when it is always to stupor.

Nene and Tola were among the most beautiful ladies in my class, even their beauty could not be underestimated in the whole department. Something strange about these two girls is that they wore almost the same attire, and were very close which made people wondered if the are twins, but they are from different tribes. That is the only reason that could prove the are not twins, moreover they are just roommates.

Charles is just a normal guy who makes friend with everyone. He was loved by every member of the class even before the first two weeks of our resumption.

Just as I was about leaving their midst, the music died down slowly and the mc sang along to end the music finally.
"Ladies and gentlemen, if u are happy, kindly give the celebrant a round of applause."

I took a look around the hall to know where Bisi was seated. her face was not smiling.
