The Sokoto State Government has announced the demise of the second civilian governor of the state.
In a statement released by the state government, Dr Garba Nadama died at the age of 82 years after a natural ailment.
The government stated that Gov. Aminu Tambuwal had sent his condolence to the family of the deceased who gave up the ghost on Monday while expressing bemusement and sadness over Nadama’s death.
Nadama, a Ph.D holder in History from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, who served as governor of the old Sokoto state from November 1981 to December 1983 died on Monday.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal described the late governor as a dedicated statesman and visionary whose ideas helped create on a solid foundation for the state.
The governor said that during his lifetime, the deceased was relentless in offering wise counsel for the progress and development of the state and its people.
Tambuwal who grieved with the people of the state prayed to Allah to grant the late Nadama Aljannatul Firdaus, and his family, the grittiness to bear the loss.
