Herdsmen Killings: IPOB Declares Sit-At-Home In 20 States

The indigenous population of Biafra, which was prescribed by the federal government, proclaimed May 30 a seat in honor of those killed by shepherds throughout the country.

In a statement from the media and publicity secretary Emma Powerful of IPOB, the sit-at-home was observed in about twenty states.

The states include Kaduna, Benue, Kogi, Plateau and Adamawa.

Others are the states in the southwest where shepherds have recently devastated, as well as the south-eastern and south-south states.

It said: "There will be no human, vehicular or animal movement over Biafraland on May 30, 2018.

"There will be full compliance in Biafraland, Brothers from the Middle Belt and Yorubaland are advised to join this historic sit-at-home in honor of the memory of anyone who died unjustly in Nigeria.

"Churches, mosques, synagogues and temples are encouraged to open their places of worship at midnight on May 29th for special midnight prayers in remembrance of all who died as a result of violence.The special watch is held at the houses of selected Biafran heroes .

"We call all people in South Kaduna, Middle Belt, in particular Benue, Adamawa, Kogi, those who are affected by heroes' terrorism in Ondo and other states in Yorubaland to join the large family of IPOB in observing a day of solemn prayer and sitting at home to remember who has lost their lives illegally due to Fulani terrorist shepherds and security agencies.

"We will also remember all the victims of Fulani shepherd attacks, Boko Haram violence and those who died through Nigerian security agencies over the years that no one can remember."

By stating that the sit-at-home coincided with the annual memorial day of the group that was initiated worldwide in honor of fallen Biafran soldiers, the statement added: "We are our heroes of class 1967-70 an unconquerable debt of thanks and will annually honor them the end of time, we will never forget them. "
