    Students Advocates For Tax Held The Nigeria We Desire Summit in Osogbo



    As a conclusive program for the 2018 Osun Tax events by the Students Advocates For Tax whose acronym is SAT tagged "The impact of taxation in building the nation we desire", A summit was held at Local Government Service Commission Auditorium at the Osun state government Secretariat Abere Oshogbo.

    Zymloaded reporter gathered that different programs had been held the previous days such as awareness creation on TV and Radio Stations, then the Walk for #TheNigeriaWeDesire rally held on major roads of Insignia from Fakunle to Orisumbare through Olaiya, Alekunwode, Oke fia and freedom park route

    Present at the summit were the members and staffs of the Osun Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions across the state of Osun, Members from the SAT and some other supporting organizations.

    Today's summit featured so many activities such as lectures, quiz, drama, cultural dance and many more.

    While speaking at the program,  the SAT National president, Hon. Babawale J. Popoola enlightened the audience on the theme of the summit. He explained the importance of tax and how it can help in building the Nigeria we desire. He added that Nigeria has depended so much on crude oil that we have forgotten the fact the it will eventually get exhausted.

    He made the audience realise that the most developed nations of the world get larger percentage of their revenue from tax since only tax can bring the best of sustainable development

    "If you do not contribute to the common-purse, you can not benefit from the common-wealth." He concluded.

    The tax summit holds annually and we look forward to next year's
