Permanent voter card, PVC, is now a prerequisite for participation in various activities in the State of Imo, including the receipt of salaries by civil servants. Governor Rochas Okorocha, who stated this when he spoke with the press in Owerri on Saturday, said that the extreme measure is to curb the 'I-not-care attitude' of people from the state against the collection of their PVCs. He added that residents of the state without presenting their PVCs can not participate in socio-economic activities such as paying salaries and gaining access to schools. Okorocha regretted that many people in the state are not worried about obtaining the PVC, making them eligible for many benefits in the state. According to him: "The government will initiate the policy of 'operation-show-your-PVC' before you can enter the market to buy or sell and before you can do business or get something from the government, and for your child are admitted to schools. Even before employees receive their salaries from the government, they have to show their PVC. We can not allow the I-do not care attitude of our people to be controlled with regard to the exercise.
