HALF MOONLIGHT. Poem by Taofik Waliu
Tonight's moon is lazy,
Half asleep, half awake on duty.
Far into the sky, it lays
Grudgingly illuminating our pathways.
How devastated the night travellers must be,
When they found their guide asleep.
Half asleep, half awake on duty.
Far into the sky, it lays
Grudgingly illuminating our pathways.
How devastated the night travellers must be,
When they found their guide asleep.
Awake! and shine your light in full,
Awake! make darkness your footstool.
Both the young and old are gathered for your sake,
To tell and listen to moonlight tales.
Awaiting something special of the night,
While you breathe it to life.
Awake! make darkness your footstool.
Both the young and old are gathered for your sake,
To tell and listen to moonlight tales.
Awaiting something special of the night,
While you breathe it to life.
