CAMOUFLAGE - Written by Apesinola Oluwatunmise
Early in the morning,
Working in my farm based at the foot of a hill,
I saw a beauty descending the hill in a magnificent manner towards me,
Her dazzling and glowing skin greets the early shining morning sun,
Her sparkling, shining eye balls dazzles beautifully at the rays of the sun,
Her footsteps are well recognized by the hills as she walks down gallantly,
The helms of her gown reacts to the direction of the morning breeze:making it fly beautifully,
She sways her head with her hair flipping from side to side as the gentle breeze falls on her gorgeous face,
Her body moves rhythmically matching the wonderfully suprised gaze in my eyes,
The first sight of her, my eyes can't forget-what a lovely glimpse.
The more she approaches me, the more increased her elegant beauty is-very perfect.

Good morning beautiful! I said.
She replied with a brief smile and a sharp tone- good morning.
I felt unbalanced but mustered courage to ask for her name,
She replied enthusistically but majestically as a princess she is- Abeke is my name.
We became friends,
Maybe casual but not soul mates yet,
One day I made my thoughts and feelings known to her,
Only for her to react coldly,
I felt bad.
Chain of friendship leading to love going astray,
Maybe almost broken,
Persistence doesn't kill, right?
Motivated by her name, Abeke,
I kept on singing my heart to the ears of her heart,
Maybe that would do the magic,
Yet her outward reaction shows she's uninterested,
I almost gave up,
Not knowing she really loves me deep down from her heart,
Right from her first sight of me.
She camouflaged to know my stance,
confused further with her status as a princess in the Beauty kingdom,
And the king's reaction- her father Trust to her relationship with me.

Love has no house,
Yet love is trust,
There's nothing she can do about it,
She's got both Love and Trust,
With their consent embedded in her heart,
Now her camouflage is off,
All doubts cleared,
She presents her self beautifully to me,
Forgetting her status and worries,
Ready to swim the river of love with me,
And feeling safe in my arms,
Without catching cold.
Yet love is trust,
There's nothing she can do about it,
She's got both Love and Trust,
With their consent embedded in her heart,
Now her camouflage is off,
All doubts cleared,
She presents her self beautifully to me,
Forgetting her status and worries,
Ready to swim the river of love with me,
And feeling safe in my arms,
Without catching cold.
Now I understand fully,
All those times I was after her,
Her camouflages are worries seeking affirmations.
Camouflages I end up loving and cherish.
All those times I was after her,
Her camouflages are worries seeking affirmations.
Camouflages I end up loving and cherish.
