MY AMBITION

I do not crave for riches,
Nor worldly pomp and power,
And all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave,
I ask for God's free air,
And shelters from the elements.

Give me three rights of man,
The right to think my thoughts,
The right to say my thoughts,
The right to stand erect,
And call my soul my own.
